Admissions
Eligibility
To pursue the Business Computer Science Program (BCS), students must:
Be a current First-Year undergraduate student in the Mendoza College of Business.
Select a Mendoza major as their primary/first major: Accountancy, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, or Strategic Management.
Prerequisite Courses
Students must complete the following courses as prerequisites for the program:
ITAO 20200: Foundations of Statistics
ITAO 20210: Foundations of Coding

How to Apply
The application for the BCS program is open once in the Fall Semester and once in the Spring Semester. For Spring 2026:
Application Opens: Monday, February 2, at 12:00 PM
Application Closes: Friday, February 20, at 5:00 PM
Please note: The BCS application is available to current Notre Dame students only and requires an ND Google login to access.
Application Process
Current Notre Dame First-Year Students: Students enrolled in Mendoza can apply for the BCS program in the spring of their first year during the Mendoza major declaration process or in subsequent semesters, subject to capacity. Students not currently enrolled in Mendoza should apply for both the BCS program and transfer to Mendoza simultaneously.
Future Applicants to Notre Dame: Prospective students can indicate their interest in the BCS program when applying to Notre Dame. A small group of students will be pre-admitted to the program before arriving at Notre Dame.

To apply, you’ll need to submit:
Academic Credentials: Demonstrating your readiness to succeed in both business and computer science.
Personal Statement (Essay or Video): Share your vision for integrating technology and business, reflecting on how your unique experiences have prepared you for this interdisciplinary journey.
Seats are limited to 15-20 student per year, so start preparing early to join this innovative program.
