About
What We Do
The Business Computer Science (BCS) Program at the University of Notre Dame is a distinctive, interdisciplinary course of study offered jointly by the Mendoza College of Business and the College of Engineering. It enables students to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a dual major — one in a traditional business discipline and one in computer science.
Designed for visionary students eager to bridge business acumen with technical expertise, the BSC program cultivates leaders who are prepared to drive innovation, lead ethically, and solve complex problems at the intersection of technology and commerce. Whether students aspire to launch tech-enabled ventures, shape data-driven strategies, or pursue graduate study, the program equips them with the tools to become a force for good in a digitally powered world.
How We Do It
As a BSC Program student, you will:
Complete two rigorous majors — one from Mendoza (Accountancy, Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing, or Strategic Management) and one in Computer Science from the College of Engineering.
Engage in a thoughtfully integrated curriculum that includes core courses in both business and computing, advanced mathematics, technical electives, and business foundations in coding, strategy, statistics, and ethics.
Participate in a cohort-based experience through a dedicated, BSC-specific section of Mendoza’s Foundations of Ethical Behavior course focused on technology and business ethics.
Build a vibrant academic community through speaker colloquia, networking events, and potential collaborations across colleges.
Develop a dual mindset to lead in environments where business decisions increasingly depend on technological fluency, data literacy, and algorithmic thinking.
Who It's For
The BCS program is for undergraduate students admitted to Mendoza who are excited to take on a challenging but rewarding academic path. Ideal candidates are intellectually curious, driven to innovate, and committed to making an impact through ethical leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Enrollment is limited to ensure a high-impact, cohort-based experience, with applications reviewed competitively during students' first year.
